After being hospitalized last month, Nene Leakes is making sure to get healthy, although it hasn't been an easy process.

"I'm not 100 percent, but I'm trying to get there," she told E! News in a Monday report. "It's been tough, but I've been pretty strong. I'm coming back."

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, who found out she had blood clots in her lungs, also explained how long the recovery period is expected to take.

"It takes about six weeks to really get back to feeling yourself, but I'm on blood thinners now," she said. "I would have to say I'm about 80 percent. I'm doing a lot better."

After she discovered her health issue, the Glee star said she was happy she caught it when it was still treatable.

"I'm thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don't recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don't go to the doctor and that's when the big problems start happening," she wrote on her blog.

She also revealed that her hubby Gregg Leakes was a big help during the difficult time and tweeted, "Thanks to my baby @greggleakes for taking such good care of me!"

The reality star will presumably talk more about her health scare when she appears on the E! Entertainment Special: Nene Leakes. Her in-depth interview with Giuliana Rancic is set to air on Monday at 10 p.m.

Rancic posted a photo of herself with Leakes on Instagram on Dec. 13 to send the star her wishes. She captioned the shot: "Happy Birthday @neneleakes...one of the fiercest chicks I know!!! Xoxox"
