Prince Harry and his girlfriend of 18 months, Cressida Bonas, have been apart for nearly a month while he walked across Antarctica for the Wounded Warriors Charity, now, word is they will not be together on Christmas either, The Telegraph has reported.

An insider close to Bonas told the publication, "Cressida will be with her family for Christmas."

A courtier also added, "His Royal Highness knows that it would not be appropriate for Miss Bonas to join the Royal family for Christmas until they are a married couple."

Bonas, 24, will also be sitting out Boxing Day shoot at the Queen's Sandringham estate. The former dancer has been to the estate before, but not when the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were there.

They might not be spending the Christmas season together, but Bonas will be getting a few gifts from her boyfriend as he has just about made it home safely from his trek and was spotted out shopping in Cape Town, South Africa.

Before heading for the United Kingdom, the royal wore a baseball cap, sunglasses while he went shopping at V and A Waterfront with some of his expedition team Friday. He also rocked a noticeable growing beard. He wore a light blue, short sleeved polo shirt with jeans and a brown belt. He bought shirts from Cape Union Mart and a few African keepsakes as well.

Prince Harry and his teammates were forced to leave Antarctica early because a snow storm was expected to hit the north pole.

Upon returning from his trip, Prince Harry said, "I'm so proud, I'm so chuffed and I'm so privileged to be here with all these guys and girls."

He's set to fly back home Monday.
