The man accused of severely beating Amish Mafia star Esther Schmucker pleaded guilty on Dec. 26 to assaulting and stalking her, according to The Associated Press.

Imir R. Williams, 24, admitted that he assaulted his girlfriend, 27-year-old Schmucker in an Oct. 3 attack. The assault left Schmucker with several broken teeth, a broken nose and cheekbone, as well as several bruises.

Williams was sentenced to three years-probation and ordered to have no contact with his former girlfriend.

Williams has been in prison since his Nov. 6 arrest after a judge refused to reduce his bail so that he could spend Thanksgiving with his family. His initial charges had been reduced from felony aggravated assault to misdemeanor assault, and an additional charge of misdemeanor stalking.

The judge denied Williams' request for reduced bail after the latter made outbursts in court. The judge called him a "violent man with a short fuse."

Schmucker sat down for her first one-on-one interview after the attack earlier in December. She admitting this had not been the first time Williams, an aspiring rapper beat her. She didn't realize she was in an abusive relationship until it was too late.

"I hear people say, 'Oh, well, it's her fault, she shouldn't have stayed with him.' That's exactly what I would have said before it happened to me," she said.

She also admitted not remembering much about the attack besides Williams "lunging" at her and waking up from a "blackout" on her bed, covered in blood.

Schmucker hopes her fame from being on the hit Discovery Channel show gives her a platform to encourage others in abusive relationships to get out before they suffer the same way she did.

"If I wouldn't have a show, nobody would know. There are millions of women that go through this every day and no one knows about them," she said. "You try to convince yourself that it will change. It's not going to get better."
