The official trailer for season 4 of Showtime's Shameless features details about Fiona attempting to move on from Jimmy, and Lip struggling with college, amongst other things.

Season 3 ended with Jimmy possibly being whacked off on a boat, Fiona starting a new full time job, Lip contemplating going to college and Ian shipping off for the Army. 

Fiona and Mike are steadily dating already, just not having sex. The trailer, released Jan. 3, shows Fiona and her boss together in a number of scenes, especially with Chicago Bears gear on. With Tony still in the mix and Jimmy not returning as a series regular, Fiona's love interest will be a hot topic in season 4. She is also spotted getting arrested in the trailer.

Season 4 will also follow the first Gallagher to graduate high school. In the season 3 finale, Lip got his diploma now it appears that he will also be the first Gallagher to go to college. Lip will start off season 4 with college struggles as his old "hoodrat" ways don't work in college. He is made fun of by other students and even denied entrance into one of his classes.

Carl and Frank join together to try and save Frank's life, or save Frank from himself. Frank needs an operation that will require $50,000 and tries to scheme a way to get the money.

Ian is still "missing" to his family, though fans learned in season 3 that he enlisted in the Army. Fiona "trusts him" but the question is asked if the family should file a missing person's report for Ian.

Debbie is also shown going on a day trip with Liam and her friend Holly, possibly a new reappearing character on the show.

Season 4 of Shameless premieres Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. EDT.
