NHL hockey fans can live stream tonight's faceoff between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals online.

The two teams will take the ice at 7 p.m. ET from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

Coming into Friday's match, the Maple Leafs have a 21-19-5 record. Despite having a strong start to the season, the Canadian team recently suffered a tough December with eight losses to their six wins. A victory over the Detroit Red Wings in the New Year's Day Winter Classic made it look like the Maple Leafs were off to a strong start in 2014, but a losses to the New York Rangers on Saturday, the New York Islanders on Tuesday, and the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday proved otherwise. With 47 points, Toronto is currently fifth in the Atlantic Division.

Entering tonight's game, the Washington Capitals have a 21-16-6 record. The D.C. team experienced a rough start to the season after losing to the Chicago Blackhawks, the Dallas Stars, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Colorado Avalanche, and the New York Rangers within the first ten games. Washington kicked off the New Year by falling to the Hurricanes and the Minnesota Wild before defeating Tampa Bay on Thursday evening. With 48 points, the Capitals are in third place for the Metropolitan Division.
