One of the dead characters on Once Upon a Time may be brought back to life in the second half of season 3.

The evil Shadow was burned and returned to Mother Superior's body in the winter finale, which may ultimately lead to a dead character being revived, according to a new report by TV Guide. The report makes special mention of Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry), signaling a potential return after his death in the season 3 premiere.

However, the town of Storybrooke being destroyed will not lead to any other deaths being reversed. The report singles out the Huntsman (Jamie Dornan) as a character who definitely will not come back to life.

Meanwhile, the Wicked Witch (guest star Rebecca Mader) is set to make her debut appearance in the upcoming spring episodes. The green-skinned witch will get her own origin story in episode 16: It's Not Easy Being Green, according to a new report by TVLine.

"She's got a whole backstory and mythology," series co-creator Adam Horowitz explains in the report. "We used the original [L. Frank Baum] book as a jumping-off point, and then spun her in a hopefully unique, Once Upon a Time way."

The Wicked Witch and Regina/Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) are not exactly best friends, so viewers will witness the two iconic villains squaring off.

"There are sparks that fly," Horowitz teases.

Once Upon a Time season 3 will air its midseason premiere on Sunday, March 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
