Bobbi Kristina is speaking out against haters who have criticized her recent marriage to Nick Gordon.

The 20-year-old and Gordon had been brought up as brother and sister for 12 years by the late Whitney Houston before her death in 2012. They recently spoke to Extra TV, revealing that although the couple have been close for many years, Gordon was never officially adopted by her family.

Gordon said that the harsh criticism of their union "put fire" on their relationship, to which Bobbi added, "It lit a fire up under our a** and we went hauling."

"The critics can say whatever they want to say... it's like we have a force field and that s***'s just bouncing off of it," Gordon said before adding, " Me calling [Whitney] mom, this where everybody gets the..."

Gordon said that although they have considered each other brother and sister, the couple were young and Whitney always treated him like he was her own.

"She [Whitney] just treated me like she gave birth to me. She treated me like a son. Excuse me for saying this... she treated me better than my birth mother. I owe everything to her," he said.

Bobbi and Gordon's relationship became more serious after Houston's tragic death at 49 years old, but the couple insisted that their romance is something she would have wanted.

"She made me promise several times to look after Krissy," Gordon said. "And, Mom, I will never ever, ever break that promise."

"She wanted this. This is something she wanted to see." Bobbi added.

The two are dispelled rumors that Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston disapproved of their marriage.

"She told both of us that she loved us very, very, very much, and Nick came up and he said "Grandma, I want to marry her. Is it okay? I need your blessing to do this, if I don't have your blessing I won't feel right," and she looked at him and she smiled," Bobbi said. "She smiled very wide and said, "Yes, son, you have my blessing."
