Spain vs. Italy takes place Sunday in one of the ties of the Group stages at Euro 2012. The current world and European champions Spain will be looking to get off to a winning start, and take victory against one of the most consistently successful soccer nations in the world in Italy.

Spain will also be looking to make history by becoming the first team ever to claim an unprecedented third major title in a row, having already won Euro 2008, and the World Cup in 2010. They go into this game and the entire tournament as hot favorites.

Italy meanwhile, are hoping to stop the rot, after consecutive defeats to Uruguay, USA and Russia in recent weeks. However, the Italian defense only conceded twice in its entire qualifying campaign and could be difficult for the Spaniards to break down.

Italy beat Spain in August 2011 in a 2-1 friendly win, which surprised many, and the 2006 World Cup winners will be looking to get another one over their Spanish rivals today.

The match can be watched live on EPSN, or alternatively can be live streamed online through ESPN3.

Former Arsenal midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, came back from injury earlier this week and should be available to play. Full-back Alvaro Arbeloa (back) and winger Jesus Navas (hand) are also expected to be declared fit.

The Spain vs. Italy tie kicks off at 12.00 p.m. Sunday June 10, and can be watched live on ESPN, or through live stream online by clicking HERE.
