Callen's Team Mounts Up To Rescue Kensi On 'NCIS: LA', New Behind-The-Scenes PHOTOS From 'Spoils of War'

Kensi will finally reunite with the rest of the NCIS: LA team in episode 19, "Spoils of War." Set in Afghanistan, the upcoming episode has been billed as a major Densi moment, and series creator Shane Brennan sat down with TV Line to explain what's next for Kensi and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen)

"The story that we've come up with in Afghanistan will impact both Kensi and Deeks in a totally unexpected way. It impacts on the rest of the team, as well," Brennan teased. "We've been slowly revealing what her mission is, and when it comes time to complete it, something major happens. Something that shocks everyone and puts Kensi in an enormous amount of jeopardy."

The emotional fallout of Kensi's mission will be compounded by her complicated relationship with Deeks. While the two finally managed to express their feelings during "The Frozen Lake," being back around Deeks won't be quite what Kensi expected.

If Kensi's plight doesn't sound bad enough, Brennan also stated that there will also be a slight role reversal as the series heads into the last few episodes. Remember how traumatized Deeks was after being tortured at the start of the season? Well, it sounds like Kensi will soon be feeling many of the same emotions.

"We're going to certainly play with their emotional stability. One of the interesting themes for Deeks and for Kensi to deal with, at the beginning of this season, was the trauma that Deeks went through after being tortured [in the Season 4 finale], how he was going to cope with that," Brennan explained to TV Line. "What we do with Kensi when she comes back is put her through that same emotional trauma that Deeks went through. I'm not saying she gets tortured, but..."

Will Kensi be tortured? Viewers will have to tune into "Spoils of War" to find out.
