Good Morning America host Robin Roberts has been tapped to host the Oscars pre-show, "Red Carpet Live" on ABC, prompting questions about whether or not girlfriend Amber Laign will be her date to the big show.

Is Robin Roberts Engaged to Amber Laign?

Early this morning, Robin Roberts and co-host Lara Spencer announced that they would be returning as the hosts of ABC's Red Carpet Live, immediately before the Oscars air on Sunday, March 2nd. Amongst the numerous celebrities expected to walk the carpet and make appearances throughout the night, the two will be joined by model Tyson Beckford and Entertainment Weekly's Jess Cagle as hosts this time around.

The Oscars will be hosted by comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Who is Amber Laign?

However, the star-filled event is nothing without the red carpet madness before it starts. ABC's Red Carpet Live will have celebrities discussing what they are wearing and who they are with.

Amber Laign, the longtime girlfriend of Roberts, is not one to fight for the spotlight. In fact, the two have never done an interview together nor have they posed for red carpet appearances. But, now that Roberts has officially announced their relationship and has received tons of positive feedback from fans and supporters for her coming-out, things may be different this time around.

Laign, who has been in Roberts' life for 10 years, has always been at the award shows and other major milestones in Roberts' long career. However, the two never felt the need to broadcast their relationship to the public.

Now that the world knows, this years' Oscars could feature the supportive same sex couple on the carpet hand-in-hand.
