The Kansas man accused of shooting and killing four people, including an 18-month-old girl, has been ordered to stand trial by a Franklin County judge.

At the conclusion of a two-day preliminary hearing in the case of 28-year-old Kyle Flack on Wednesday, Judge Thomas Sachse ordered that Flack stand trial on charges of capital murder. first-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm, and set his arraignment for Apr 22.

If convicted, Flack could face the death penalty, though prosecutors declined to comment on whether they were seeking that as possible punishment.

Flack is accused of shooting and killing Andrew Stout, Steven White and Kailey Bailey, as well as Bailey's 18-month-old daughter Lana-Leigh. Stout, White and Kailey's bodies were all found in May at Stout's Ottawa farm. The 18-month-old's body was found days later in a suitcase floating in a creek in nearby Osage County.

A detective testified on Tuesday that Flack told him during an interrogation that Stout had initially shot at White over a rent argument, before handing the gun to Flack, who also shot White. A motive for shooting Stout, Bailey and her daughter has not been determined.

White reportedly died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, while Stout died from multiple gunshot wounds. Kaylie died from a gunshot wound to the head, while her daughter died from a chest wound.

Unlike the other victims, Kaylie's body was also found with zip ties around her wrists and a red bandana shoved in her mouth. The condition of her body led prosecutor to try and also get Flack tried for attempted rape, but Judge Sachse threw the charge out after determining that prosecutors had not met their burden to prove probable cause.

Flack allegedly killed Kailey and Lana-Leigh Bailey on May 1 of last year, and Stout on April 29. White was believed to have died sometimes between April 20 and 29.
