Jai Courtney talked about playing Kyle Reese in Terminator Genesis, while comparing it with his role in Divergent, in an interview dated March 11 with HitFix.

The 27-year-old and Miles Teller spoke with the online publication while promoting Divergent.

Courtney plays Eric, one of the leaders of the Dauntless faction, in Divergent. He spoke about the coveted role of Reese he recently bagged and playing Eric in Divergent.

"I think that being aware of the following is such a different than preparing to shoot a movie and getting into the character and all that," Courtney said about taking on the part of Reese.

He went on to speak about the two roles, one in an already epic franchise and the other in a franchise that was just starting out but fast gaining popularity.

Filming for Terminator 5 to Begin in New Orleans in April.   

"I really don't know if there is any correlation between the hype of Divergent and going to play Kyle Reese. It's not something I considered," he said.

Courtney went onto speak about portraying Reese, who was already an iconic character, would be intimidating.

"When something has a built in fan base you open yourself up to a whole lot of other challenges and experiences," he added.

In another recent interview with IGN, Courtney also spilled about his thoughts on the fifth installment of the Terminator franchise.

"I've always had a bit of skepticism about something being rebooted," he said. "I remember when [A Good Day to] Die Hard came around a few years ago, I was like, 'Really? They're gonna make another one?' and then I found myself in it and totally invested in it. I think it's healthy to have that [skepticism] because you want it to be something [special]. You want to keep that eye for quality sharp."

Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
