While there is still no word if Iron Man 4 will ever happen, Robert Downey Jr. revealed what kind of character viewers would see if the rumors prove true.

Robert Downey, Jr. To Be Replaced In Iron Man 4?

On Thursday, HitFix posted a clip from the upcoming Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe documentary that will be airing on March 18 on ABC that features Downey Jr. and producer Stephen Broussard.

Downey Jr. talked about playing the legendary superhero, which creates speculation on what the character would be like if Iron Man 4 ever happens.

Ben Kingsley To Make Appearance In Iron Man 4?

"Playing someone who's conflicted, and conflicted for the right reasons and doesn't see the potential that they have and then starts living in accordance with a code is a great, old-fashioned theme," Downey Jr. says in the clip. "But I hadn't ever imagined that I could be involved in something that demonstrates it on this scale."

Broussard revealed that Downey Jr. knew that playing the hero was a big deal, which creates even more speculation if the actor would be willing to reprise his role yet again.

"Robert knew what a big opportunity it was to be cast in this role," Broussard said. "And it was a redemption for him in the same way that Tony was in many ways."

There was another rumor from IGN that Downey Jr. may not want to be a part of the film, and if it gets planned, it probably won't happen for a long time. It was also mentioned that if another Iron Man film happens, then there might be a different actor to take on the role.
