"I can't believe this. I really didn't expect it y'all. Thank you so much," she said. "I was standing next to Sheryl Crow, complete and utter rock star. And Kacey Musgraves, I grew up with her. She wrote the single of the year this year. Carrie Underwood is my buddy and she's a phenomenon."

However, Lambert's disregard for Swift wasn't intentional. The 30-year-old, who won the award for five consecutive years, apologized for forgetting to mention the Red singer in her speech.

"I always try to acknowledge everybody in any category that I ever win anything in because I know we all work our a-- off, we do, we all do, we give 110 percent all year long, especially Taylor," she told press after the award show, according to HitFix. "She's kind of like her own animal, she's ridiculous."

Lambert explained that she was focused on dedicating her award to some of her friends back home that are going through a difficult time. The singer also added that Swift understood saying, "I talked to her, she's cool."

At the award show, Lambert also won Single Record of the Year for Mama's Broken Heart and Vocal Event of the Year for We Were Us, her duet with Keith Urban.
