Last month, the hit police procedural series was renewed for a tenth season, and with only a few episodes left for Criminal Minds Season 9, the show is taking a three-week hiatus. On April 30, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will return to investigate the antics of another villainous character, who will be portrayed by 41-year-old funnyman Baumgartner. "In this role, he'll be playing the role of a man who has hit that point of his life where he just snaps and starts to go on killing sprees," told International Business Times in March.

Furthermore, there is some speculation that this sinister character will turn out to be the "Big Bad UnSub" for the season. Reportedly, the show has a tried and true method for ending its seasons, which "involves either a cliffhanger or introducing the ultimate villain who will span a few episodes before having an explosive finale."
