It appears that Downton Abbey will add some new characters to the series who would normally not seem old enough to be a part of the show.

Series Will Have 'Attention To Detail?'

On Tuesday, Hastings Observer reported that about six children from The Hastings Stage Studio will be featured in the fifth season of the British drama. The kids' names are Louis Selling, Harry Seymour, Morgan Smith, Sophie Apthorp, Brandon Polhammer and Nyah Braisby. All of them are between the ages of 8-11, and two of the boys are playing choir kids.

According to Vanessa Pohlhammer, director of J & V Management and The Hastings Stage Studio, the kids have been working with Maggie Smith, who plays Violet Crawley on the series.

Lady Mary To Have A New Romance?

"The students play children in the local village school, and two were also choir boys filming with Dame Maggie Smith, reporting that they were thrilled to work with Professor McGonagall from Harry Potter!" the director said.

Executive producer Gareth Neame recently told The Hollywood Reporter that Smith's character will have a huge part next season.

"She's a huge part of the show, and I think she enjoys doing it," Neame said. "I think it's remarkable for someone who's had such a long and illustrious career to be still delivering work of this caliber. One has also really got to make reference to the remarkable combination of [series creator] Julian Fellowes and Maggie Smith. She's almost like a muse to him."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
