Lamar Odom is on the verge toward a deal to sign with the New York Knicks before the NBA regular season ends on Wednesday.

According to ESPN, the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian is in talks with Knicks president of basketball operations Phil Jackson to put him on their roster immediately. Sources said the organization wants to sign Odom as soon as possible so that the Knicks will have two months before free agency which begins on July 1 to get him into their program.

Odom played with Jackson on the Los Angeles Lakers and even won a NBA championship, before he was traded to the Clippers.

The 34-year-old is still recovering from a back injury that cut short his contract in the Spanish League, just after two games. Though it is believed that Odom is no where near to being back in shape, sources added that the Knicks trust Jackson to push Odom back on track.

Meanwhile, as Odom gets back in the groove on the court, Kardashian is said to be moving on with rapper, French Montana.

She recently took to Instagram to write a love message that many indicated was directed at Montana.

"And in the end, we were all just humans, drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our brokenness," Kardashian wrote.

Montana is reportedly still married to Deen Kharbouch, and in an interview with Life & Style magazine, she wants Kardashian to know that things with the rapper "are not what they seem."

"She [Kardashian] has to be careful," Kharbouch told the magazine, which is on stands now.
