Fans of HBO's critically acclaimed new series, True Detective, have been piping up about their desires to see an actress star in a leading role on the popular crime drama. Well, enthusiasts of the show may be glad to learn that they may get two. The 25-year-old red haired beauty Emma Stone and funny lady Kristen Wiig might just be the ones to fulfill their entertainment desires.

HBO Unsure About Renewing 'True Detective' for Season 2?

Recently, the amusing Spider-Man starlet proclaimed in an interview that it "would be amazing" to portray a character in True Detective. Monday, The Huffington Post revealed, "The actress, famous for her roles in comedies like Superbad and Easy A has something a bit darker in mind for her next project."

Likewise, when she was asked in another recent interview whether or not she would be interested on Season 2 of the hit HBO show, Stone seemed stoked about the idea, and exclaimed "I would do True Detective with Kristen Wiig in a heartbeat."

Like Stone, 40-year-old Wiig is also well-known for the comical fodder she's provided on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and Bridesmaids. Plus, though True Detective may have a negative undertone like SNL's Debbie Downer, it's negativity is more so in a "satanic cult" kind of way.
