The Blacklist's Tom Keen is on the run, but is he really the bad guy everyone thinks he is?

New Clues About A Shocking 'Blacklist' Finale, A Major Death, The Identity of Berlin

Despite the recent death toll Tom has racked up, Liz Keen's (Megan Boone) husband recently tried to persuade the FBI profiler that he is, in fact, one of the 'good guys.' While he may loose points for making his game-changing announcement while wielding a gun against his wife, Tom's statements and the contents of box 3929 have the potential to make Liz reevaluate her relationship with both Tom and Red (James Spader).

As The Blacklist moves into the final episodes of its freshman season, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp has hinted that Tom's continued state of ambiguous loyalty will become even more important.

"If Tom was just a psychopath killer, that's not very interesting," Bokenkamp explained on Beyond the Blacklist. "I think Tom maybe having a piece of some larger truth that goes beyond just him being a bad guy is really critical to the show, that there are things about Red that he knows that Liz doesn't know."

Unfortunately, Red is aware that Tom is onto something and it looks like he will be two steps ahead of Liz while investigating her lying hubby.

"Now that Tom is gone, maybe even greater things will come from that because now that he has taken off and is in the wind, Red's guys are watching," Bokenkamp told Beyond the Blacklist. "Where Tom may lead us may be far more valuable than what would of come had Liz just played it out an kept him at home."
