The mysteries of Gracepoint are coming to Fox, and new photos of David Tennant and Anna Gunn have helped escalate anticipation.

'Broadchurch' vs 'Gracepoint': David Tennant Explains Upcoming Changes For FOX Remake

Billed as the American version of Broadchurch, ITV's hit British series, Gracepoint brings Doctor Who to US television alongside Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn. The powerhouse duo will portray two detectives who find themselves in the middle of a highly publicized murder investigation that brings media scrutiny bearing down on the little coastal town of Gracepoint.

Tennant played DI Alec Hardy in the British version, and the Scot will take up a similar role in Gracepoint as he depicts Detective Emmett Carver. An edgy outsider who recently entered the small community, Carver will be at odds with Detective Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) from the jump - not particularly a surprise since he was hired to fill a position she was gunning for.

The pair will be investigating the death of the young Danny Solano, whose death brought darkness to the idyllic California beaches. However, they will have to contend with small town secrets and the intense finger pointing, displeasure, and suspicion generated by local residents.

While Gracepoint will be markedly different from it's predecessor and will have a different ending, viewers can get a feel for what's to come by watching the trailer for Broadchurch's first season below.

Set to air as a 10-part event series, Gracepoint is expected to start airing this Fall.
