AMC's The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere this fall, and more information has indeed circulated, including the possibility of more characters being killed off.

Season 5 Release Date Announced?

On Tuesday, Comic Book Resources posted an interview with series showrunner Scott Gimple, who revealed that despite any character attachments, there is always a chance that someone could die.

"I mean, it's a bummer, but nobody's too important to kill off," Gimple said. "I'm not thrilled to say that, but it's just the nature of this show."

Season 5 Will Have Another Location Besides Terminus?

The showrunner also mentioned his reasons for killing off certain characters, which has nothing to do with purposely shocking the audience.

"Anybody can die, anybody will die, and my goal is that it not just be for shock value and that it serve the story," Gimple said. "People might last a good long time, or they might be taken tomorrow. And the speculation of all of it-- I try not to pay too much attention to that because it's really important that we just serve our story."

Gimple then said that the program is more about the storyline as opposed to the number of characters who die.

"People are thinking that we're killing too many people, that we're not killing enough people," he said. "I'm just trying to tell the story."

Gimple also mentioned that it's important to give the audience what they want as well as what they need for a good story.

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere in October on AMC.
