Emily's "Revengenda" is finally complete on Revenge. Or is it? The queenpin has been check-mated. Victoria's in the nut house. Conrad is dead. Aiden's dead. David Clark's name is cleared - and he's back with a vengeance for season 4.

The Epic Revenge Finale - Does Emily Take Victoria Out?

As reported Entertainment Weekly by on May 11:

Victoria's In The Nut House

It seems fans now know whose grave Emily was digging -- Amanda's. She's digging her own grave after Victoria killed her true love, Aiden. And then whack! She clocks Victoria in the head with a shovel. Next thing Victoria knows, she wakes up in a psych ward - screaming like a mad woman.

Emily Takes Conrad Out

"Each battle has kind of like psychological deliciousness. We wanted Emily to win in the moment because she knows Victoria will eventually get out of this asylum, and who knows what she'll come back to be and armed with," said showrunner Sunil Nayer. "It gave us a lot more psychological ammunition for both Emily and Victoria going forward."

Nayer says next season promises to be "dark" and "delicious." It's "not going to be about crossing off names on a list of who wronged David Clark."

Instead, Emily now has to deal with "the fact that Victoria has killed Aiden, and Victoria believes Emily has had a hand in killing Pascal." Both women are on a sweet new mission of revenge now.

"We think the concept of revenge is still vital, but we think we can approach it in different ways."

David Clark Is Not Dead

On to the most shocking twist, David Clark is alive? The show's one truth - David Clark is dead - has been turned completely on its head.

Now that dear ol' dad is returning 20 years later, he's returning to a daughter who has dedicated her life to revenging him - but who does not know him at all.

"One of the reasons we really wanted to bring him back was because it gives us so many places to psychologically go with this story, for everybody. And the other thing we wanted to do was, when we reintroduced him, he's no longer a man about forgiveness."

Even though he's back, this is not the same guy Amanda knew as a child. This isn't even the guy Victoria knew as a lover. This is a murderer. Given that David killed Conrad - he's definitely a new guy.

Emily's Identity Crises

Will it be Emily Thorne or Amanda Clark?

"There's been that sense of, 'Oh my God, what happens when Victoria finds out who Emily is?' ... [We did not want] Victoria [to] come charging back to the Hamptons and unmask Emily completely in front of everybody..." Nayer said.

But will Emily be able to unmask herself? She said in an earlier episode:

"I don't know who Amanda Clark is anymore."

Emily Thorne is a machine she invented, and now that machine seems to be all that's left. Given that she dug Amanda Clark's grave - we're guessing Emily Thorne won this round.

Emily Loses The Love Of Her Life

With Aiden gone, Emily is now driven by a new fury for season 4.

"When you lose the love of your life, it's much more intense. There's much more longing. And it's a person with whom she planned to spend her life."

With Aiden gone though, Jack and Emily will reconnect.

"They get to connect not only on the level of what they mean to each other but there's also an element of grief and anger. So we're definitely going to see the relationship deepen and grow."

As For Nolan?

"We're going to explore some of the darker themes of the show, but we need to balance that with light and fun and intrigue and the glamor, and obviously, Nolan and Gabriel [Mann] is sort of our ticket to that land."

Revenge has been picked up for a 4th season, and Nayar jokes, "I was telling everyone, if we didn't get picked up, that was going to be the ultimate act of revenge.".
