Though the premise of his new FOX reality series I Wanna Marry Harry is sure to come under fire, star Matthew Hicks doesn't appear to be feeling any guilt for tricking 12 American women into thinking he was actually Prince Harry.

In a May 14 interview with HuffPost Live, Hicks revealed that he shouldn't feel penalized for impersonating the remaining eligible royal and tricking women into thinking he could make them a princess, because the show is all being done in good fun.

"I think anyone who is questioning the ethics of the show is just taking it all far too seriously," he said. "It's a reality TV show, it's a bit of fun. Yeah, we got emotionally invested in it, but everyone signed up ad sort of knew what they were in for."

"The casting company did a great job with the girls and myself, so I mean, it was all just an absolute barrel of laughs for six weeks," he added. "Hopefully, no one's emotionally scarred from it all, and there might be a romantic interest at the end of it."

He also revealed how he managed to fool the women on the show by enrolling in a week-long 'Harry School,' which taught him everything he needed to know about impersonating the prince.

"I went through this sort of week of Harry school, where I had to practice all the skills he's got, like horse-riding, polo, which I've never done before, I did some shooting," he said. "I had to learn his military history, his schooling, past scandals, ex-girlfriends, the whole shebang."

He also admitted he had to dye his naturally blonde hair red in order to convincing portray the prince.

The show takes 12 American girls -- Carley Hawkins, Andrea Fox, Anna Lisa Matias, Chelsea Brookshire, Maggie Toraason, Karina Kennedy, Kimberly Birch, Jacqueline Conroy, Meghan Jones, Kelley Andrews, Rose Copeland and Leah Thomas -- and moves them into an English castle as they search for love with Hicks, who the women think is Prince Harry.

I Wanna Marry Harry premieres Tuesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
