As Robin Wright graces the cover of Town & Country's June issue, she spoke to the publication about acting and playing Claire Underwood on House of Cards.

Frank Aiming for More Than 'Presidency' as Show Gets Darker, Kevin Spacey Reveals?    

The actress suggested that she was skeptical about taking on the role of Claire Underwood in the Netflix political drama when producer David Fincher approached her because she worried she might need to go under the knife to play the part. The 48-year-old actress didn't want to get any cosmetic surgery done to be able to take the role, and was prepared to turn it down.

"I was sitting there going, 'You're 45, and you're not gonna get a face-lift,' " she said. "I was really considering that stuff, because in Hollywood the pressure's there. You better lift that face and pump those lips and hike those boobs! And I was like, 'I don't want to do that. I'm going to get older. I'm going to have wrinkles!'"

Wrigt also spoke about how it was tough to uphold ones integrity in her career as an actor in Hollywood.

"Hollywood is difficult to navigate if you have integrity, so I opted not to work if there wasn't enough to do in a role, which doesn't have to do with the role's size," she said. "If there's nothing for me to do as an actress, that's frustrating ... I'd rather go work at a menial labor job, where I can actually get my hands dirty."

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
