Harrison Ford continues to keep fans guessing about his future film projects and whether or not his focus will be geared more towards the Star Wars series or Indiana Jones franchise.

Harrison Ford's Leading Role In 'Star Wars' A Good Sign For 'Indiana Jones?'

While promoting his new flick, The Expendables 3 in Cote d'Azur over the weekend, Ford was asked about his future in the announced Star Wars sequel films that are slated for release in the years following 2015's Star Wars: Episode VII.

"I'm sorry?" the actor asked after hearing the question, before refusing to officially comment on future projects and choosing to change the focus to his current return to the franchise.

Tom Selleck Appearing In Future 'Indiana Jones' Movies?

"I'm just delighted to be involved. We haven't started filming yet but we have a great script and a wonderful cast," he said. "J.J. Abrams is a director at the top of his game and I'm looking forward to it. It'll be great fun."

The actor has been notoriously cagey about his appearance in the Star Wars movies, never truly confirming he would appear in Episode VII until the official cast announcement was made, which has kept fans guessing on whether or not the actor would appear in a future (and as of yet unannounced) Indiana Jones 5 movie.

Ford has been vocal about his preference to play Indiana Jones again over his famed Han Solo character, and has express contempt for the famous Star Wars persona.

"He's dumb as a stump," the actor said back in 2008. "He's got a good heart, but I think he's certainly a much less interesting character than Indiana Jones."

"The breadth of his story utility was never extensive," he continued. "He was the foil between the other more compelling elements of the film, between the sage old warrior and the young hero. There's not much breadth of character to explore beyond what we got out of him."

Reports circulated in February that Ford wasn't willing to sign on to play Han Solo again unless Disney would let him be contracted again for not only Indiana Jones 5, but a sixth film as well.

"Regarding Harrison Ford, two more Indiana Jones features are in the negotiation stages as per Ford's contract clause on Star Wars, which is the primary reason he didn't 'publicly' or 'privately' commit, or so I'm told," a source told MarketSaw back in February.

If Ford refused to sign on to Star Wars until he had worked out a separate deal for the Indiana Jones franchise, fans could potentially expect an announcement for the film soon.
