There was a recent rumor going around that Rick Grimes might lose himself a limb when The Walking Dead returns, and reports are confirming if that's true or not.

Season 5 Release Date Announced?

On Monday, Wetpaint pointed out that random tweets and websites were mentioning that actor Andrew Lincoln was testing with a green screen arm since he loses a hand in the comic book series.

Despite any assumptions that the character would continue the series with one arm, a tweet from The Spoiling Dead Fans made it clear that that was not happening.

One Of The Main Characters Will Be Killed Off?

"Just so everyone knows, Andrew Lincoln was not seen filming with a green sleeve on," the tweet said.

Last month, producer Robert Kirkman revealed on Sundance's The Writers' Room that it's doubtful Rick would lose his arm on the show despite what happened in the comic book.

"I like the fact that he lost his hand in the comic," Kirkman said. "To be perfectly honest, the practical difficulties of having a guy who doesn't have a hand is extremely complicated in the comic and would be impossible in the show. Because the comic book doesn't move."

The producer gave more details on why that wouldn't work on television and mentioned a moment that the comic was able to pull off.

"For instance, in a recent issue, I think it's 122 or 123, Rick is standing on top of a truck," Kirkman said. "It would take him quite a while to climb on top of a truck with one hand, but we just show him standing on a truck. And you're reading that comic, and you're like, 'There he is on that truck.'"

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere in October on AMC.
