If rumors about Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes splitting up after three years together are true, the 40-year-old actress may not have to worry about being single for long.

According to a new report, Neighbors star Zac Efron is desperate for a chance to court Mendes -- even if it involves stealing her away from Gosling.

"Zac has compiled a 'wish list' of eligible women -- and Eva Mendes heads the list," a source told Radar Online June 13. "Zac wants to date someone who's not intimidated by fame and who can challenge him intellectually."

Mendes, who is already older than her 33-year-old rumored ex-beau, would be dating even younger if she returned the 26-year-old Efron's affections -- but Efron is reportedly not concerned over the age difference between himself and the actress.

"He's always loved her look and thought Ryan Gosling was insane not to put a ring on her finger," the source added. "If she was even remotely interested he'd jump at the chance."

Other women Efron has reportedly expressed interest in also include Lea Michele, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Rihanna, though the latter's party habits have ruled her out for anything long-term with the now clean and sober former High School Musical star.

This isn't the first time another actor has reportedly expressed interest in Mendes. Before his engagement to Amal Alamuddin was announced, George Clooney reportedly expressed interest in the actress as well.

It also wouldn't be the first time split rumors surfaced concerning Gosling and Mendes either. In fact, back in March, he was reportedly reconnecting with ex girlfriend Rachel McAdams.

Sources told OK! Magazine in March that McAdams was trying to win Gosling back, and that he has been somewhat receptive to the idea.

"Rachel has been very low-key about it all," the source said at the time. "She's played it very smart and used the whole 'just friends' angle to get close to Ryan again, but she 100 percent wants him back. He's not the cheating type, but he hasn't been honest with Eva about how much contact he has with Rachel."

Though Gosling isn't allegedly the cheating type, a recent Cosmopolitan article claimed he could be a cheater simply because of his name. The website quoted a poll of 2000 women on siteopia.com, which pegged the top ten names of men who are most likely to cheat on a partner.

Ryan came in third on the list, behind Wayne and Liam. The other names included Matt, Craig, Steve, Scott, Dean, Mark and Lee.

Most recently, Gosling has reportedly been trying to court married Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks.
