Jessica Lange's Troupe On Its "Last Legs" in Freak Show?

The upcoming season of American Horror Story is subtitled Freak Show and features many of the show's returning cast playing "freaks" living in Jupiter, Fla. in the 1950s. One of those actresses set to play a freak is Angela Bassett, who recently teased a detail about her character to E! Online.

"It's going to be tough, tough, tough to surpass Marie Laveau, it really is. She was truly a special phenomenon," Bassett said, in reference to her Coven character. "All [co-creator Ryan Murphy] has told me is I'm not the bearded lady, but he said, 'Oh it's better! It's even better than that!'"

Everything Known So Far About American Horror Story: Freak Show

She revealed that the producers at American Horror Story called her and asked if she was afraid of heights ahead of Freak Show, suggesting that she may be playing some sort of giant, or at least have some sort of trait that would allow her to be up in the air.

All the actress is hoping for at the end of the day is that she's not "the ticket taker" at the freak show.

Additionally, American Horror Story is casting for some new roles, per E! Online. Among the new characters an extremely tall man named Bobby, the "comedic" Larry, and a role requiring prosthetics whose name is Sammy.

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a set air date.
