The adventures of the crime-fighting Expendables team will continue in their third adventure, though this time they will be forced to take on a very familiar face as an enemy.

Once upon a time, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) were good friends -- in fact, the relationship was so great between them that they even formed the Expendables team together. But, as Stonebanks says in the movie's official trailer, they had a massive falling out at some point, he became an arms dealer, and, now they are at opposite sides of a war where the ultimate prize appears to be the other one's life.

The trailer shows the two as they each continually try to find a way to win the battle they have waged-via explosions, gunfire, fistfights, and even potential kidnapping of Ross' newest recruits to the team.

"Hey Barney, you should have killed me when you had the chance," Stonebanks threatens via a video in the preview. "You want the kids, come get 'em."

The movie also promises an impressive A-list cast, with some of the biggest names in action movies over the years all joining forces for the epic battle. In addition to Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Terry Crews are all reprising their roles in the film. Joining Gibson as a first-timer in the film are Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Kelsey Grammer, Ronda Rousey, Natalie Burn and Robert Davi.

Expendables 3 hits theaters August 15.
