One day after Angie Martinez announced her shocking departure from Hot 97, her new business venture was revealed. The 43-year-old will join Clear Channel Media to host an afternoon program on both 103.5 The Beat in Miami and rival New York City radio station Power 105.1.

“Major announcement coming up next !” Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club tweeted on Thursday morning. “Welcome @angiemartinez the "Voice of New York" to @Power1051 !”

The Breakfast Club later added, "Yup! It's official and we're happy to have @angiemartinez join the Power 105.1 family!"

Martinez, who worked at Hot 97 for 25 years, will now join Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, Angela Yee, DJ Clue and DJ Prostyle.

“I want to thank, Thea Mitchem, Tom Poleman and Doc Wynter for this incredible opportunity,” Martinez said in a press release. “I’m excited to join Power 105.1 in New York and The Beat in Miami and expand my brand even further in the coming months.”

Speculation that Martinez would move to Power 105.1 began quickly after she announced her resignation on Twitter on Wednesday. Martinez's former colleague Ebro Darden tweeted: "Angie,I love you and gave my life to protect you. This is a great opportunity to extend your brand!! Get that $," he wrote.

He also replied, "that is the game My G! Real..." after a Twitter user asked, "What if Power 105 offers Angie a bigger bag tho?"

Power 105.1 even retweeted Martinez's Twitter announcement and added a smiley face.

Yet, Martinez's unexpected move wasn't easy for her. "This was one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways," she tweeted in her farewell announcement. "Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future."
