After dissing Fifty Shades of Grey recently, Dakota Johnson's father Don Johnson is now saying he won't see his daughter's break out film.

Rita Ora Says Shooting Fifty Shades Was 'Best Experience'

Don remarked in an interview that he thinks Fifty Shades will be a "blip" in his daughter's career. "I can tell you this: Dakota is a gifted, gifted actress," he told The Huffington Post. "And this will be a blip in a long line of parts where she kills it. She is the authentic article and I am exceedingly proud of her."

Now, Don says he told his daughter he wouldn't see her star in the sexy adaptation of the popular book. "I don't know whether it is [embarrassing] or not, this is the family business, we portray characters and this is the character that Dakota is portraying,"

The former Miami Vice star told The Telegraph. "It's difficult for people to separate who we are from the characters we portray, but not for me.

"It's not something I would go to anyway," Don said defending his choice. "I probably will not see it just because it's not a movie I would see. I've never seen The Vampire Diaries, I've never seen Twilight. It's in a category of films that I just wouldn't be interested in."

Dakota, who is starring as Anastasia Steele, likely isn't that mad at her dad, since she previously said she would not be inviting him or her mom Melanie Griffith to the set. 'I'm obviously not going to invite them to take part in this experience," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I don't need to watch movies of theirs where they do things like this. Why would you want to watch that?"
