It appears that Downton Abbey may go off the air sooner than fans are hoping.

Actress Takes Photos Of Downton Abbey Set

On Saturday, Mirror posted an interview with actress Lesley Nicol, who plays Mrs. Patmore on the series, mentioned that the show will have to leave television at some point mainly since series creator Julian Fellowes seems to have a lot on his plate.

"It only has one writer in Julian Fellowes," Nicol said. "It's very different to shows in America where they have teams of writers. One day they will decide to stop it."

The actress then mentioned that she's still enjoying herself on the series, and has no plans to leave.

"But I'm very happy and I'm not going to run away from it now," she said. "We only do it for half of the year so I have the other half to do other things."

Nicol also dished on women finding roles. At 61-years-old, the actress said that it is indeed possible to become an actress after a certain age.

"At the drop of a hat people will say there are no roles for women after 40," she said. "It's there with a bunch of other rules I'm not interested in."

The actress then stated that she is not interested in rules.

"I'm very happy to have this role and show actors my age it can happen any time," she said. "Who knows what's around the corner?"

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
