As the filming for Terminator: Genesis is currently underway, it seems like fans have more than just spoilers and pictures from the set. A new short film based on John Connor was released on June 16.

Movie Title And T-800 Revealed At 2014 Promotional Expo?

The short film, titled Final Transmission: John Connor, was made on a budget of only $400, shows, Connor injured by a bullet wound, a ruined Golden Gate Bridge can be seen in the backdrop, and he documents his experience of warring forever into a voice recorder. Wonky T-800s are also seen in the film. Connor might be recording his experience to pass on to his son. Connor goes on to talk about being no different than the machines, and being programmed to kill that way, interestingly enough he also blames his mother for that. It's an interesting take on the character and his sense of imprisonment. But overall the movie is not very impressive and slightly overdramatic.

"The year is 2032. The war with SkyNet has finally ended and John Connor led the charge. He has one last battle to fight- the one with himself and some of the choices he's made. Now he must try and rectify the past if anyone is to have a chance at a future."

The fifth instalment in the Terminator franchise is being directed by Taylor and Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role as the iconic mean machine. Jai Courtney will be playing Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke will be portraying the part of John Connor, and Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) will be playing Detective Cheung, who will arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017. 

Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
