Though they never confirmed an official wedding date, reports that George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin weren't tying the knot until September could be proven false.

In fact, the actor and his lawyer fiancée have been spending a lot of time by his Lake Como villa in Italy recently -- and were joined by Alamuddin's mother, Baria.

Clooney, his fiancée and future mother-in-law were all spotted enjoying time together in the area June 24, despite it being the first time the lawyer's mother had met Clooney.

George Clooney Proposes!

Though Clooney was reportedly nervous about the meeting with the award-winning journalist, sources said things went extremely well.

"They were outside, and Amal and her mom were smiling. It was going pretty great," a source said.

The visit was relatively short however, as Baria left the next day.

Flying Baria out to Italy may not have only been a gesture Clooney employed to try and win her over, as he may have also been seeking approval on his villa being the site of his and Amal's fast-approaching wedding.

In fact, Hello! Magazine reports that Clooney has helped get a set of new privacy laws put into place around his villa, which prevents both fans and paparazzi from getting too close -- sparking rumors the villa will be the site of the couple's nuptials.

"It is now completely forbidden to stop outside the entrance to Clooney's villa," mayor of Laglio, Roberto Pozzi said." It's a question of traffic and security. It is very dangerous and it's also an issue of privacy."

The laws were passed on June 21 and not only prohibit stopping at the lakeside property by the road, but also prevents anyone from swimming or sailing within 100 meters of the property as well. The rules expire at the end of September, meaning the couple could still marry there in the fall, but may also be a means of safeguarding their privacy even further, by allowing them to marry earlier, and without risk of the public eye.
