With a number of high profile actors denying involvement with HBO's True Detective, Angie Harmon is one actress who isn't hesitating to put her name out there.

'True Detective' Season 2 Plot Details

True Detective generated a massive amount of viewer interest through series creator Nic Pizzolatto's writing and the program's high-caliber cast, including Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Since McConaughey and Harrelson were only slated for one season from the very beginning, speculation has been stirring as to who will helm the show's second season. Jessica Chastain (The Debt, Mama) and Christian Bale (The Dark Knight, The Prestige) have both been rumored to be talks for the show. Chastain has since denied such claims.

'True Detective' Casting Rumors

Pizzolatto recently told fans that none of the rumors floating around season two of the series are actually true. Officially, casting is not completed. Nonetheless, fans keep hoping. And apparently, actors are also crossing their fingers.

According to one source, Harmon would definitely be interested in appearing on the program, even in a supporting role. When asked on Twitter which show she'd want to guest star on, Harmon did not hesitate. "True Detective OR Penny Dreadful!!" exclaimed the actress, adding "I'd kill or die for a chance to be in 1 of those!"

While murder and mayhem is not necessary, both the HBO's True Detective and Showtime Victorian drama Penny Dreadful have seen their fair share of carnage, and so it is good to see Harmon getting into the spirit.

Harmon is currently the star of TNT's investigative drama Rizzoli and Isles. While her appearance on True Detective does not seem likely, it certainly does not hurt her case to put the word out there.
