As the premiere of season 2 of Ray Donovan approaches, actress Paula Malcomson, who plays Ray's wife Abby Donovan on the Showtime series, spoke about what fans can expect from the next chapter in an interview dated July 9.

Speaking to Today Online, the actress revealed that this season would branch out, and veer from focussing mostly on Ray's (Liev Schreiber) life. She suggested that all the character's would get their due and will be dealing with their own personal issues which might not have to do with Ray.

"Well, you know, the first season really centred around Ray, but going into the second season, the characters (will be) spinning out a little, working on their own little agendas," she said.

New Character, An Irish Immigration Officer, To Create Trouble For Ray In Season 2?

Malcolmson also spoke about how the Showtime series' success and the anticipation relating to the audiences' reaction to the upcoming season.

"None of us really knew what to expect," said Malcomson about the series' success. "It's always fun to go back to a show where the audience is excited to (watch) a new season."

The most recent development relating to geust stars on the show, was that of Glenn Keogh joining as an Irish immigration officer on the show who would be working closely with one of the main characters in one of the episodes.

In an interview with the Examiner Keogh spoke about his role. "I play an Irish Immigration officer, working closely with one of the main characters (sorry can't say which one) fun episode and nice to play a government official once," he said. "Typically it's the officials that are tracking my characters down!"

The second season of Ray Donovan will premiere on July 13.

Ray Donovan will air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
