Casting for a new junior agent on the upcoming 10th season of Fox's Bones has been announced, and it is someone from the Fox family.

Bones Season 10 Premiere Sees Booth & Brennan Confronting 'The Conspiracy in the Corpse'

Actor John Boyd is set to play new agent James Aubrey on Season 10 of Bones, as reported by TVLine on Tuesday. Boyd played CTU analyst Arlo Glass in the eighth season of the recently resurrected Fox drama 24.

Boyd's James Aubrey will be working under Booth (David Boreanaz) in Season 10 and he causes a bit of trouble for him. The report claims that James Aubrey views every opportunity he receives as a stepping stone to further his own career and climb the ladder to power. Booth notices this and tries to bring him back down to reality.

Booth 'Fighting For His Life' Going Into Bones Season 10

It is not clear how many episodes Boyd will be in for the upcoming season, nor is it known when he will be featured in the season overall. Assuming he is in the first few episodes then this means that Booth will likely be a free man after the tumultuous events of the Season 9 finale. The final episode featured Booth facing off against members of the Delta Force and shooting at them due to a possible connection to the Ghost Killer.

Bones showrunner Stephen Nathan previously said that when Season 10 rolls around, a total of three months will have passed, and Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will not been able to touch each other for that period of time.

Bones Season 10 is set to premiere on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
