A decision still has not been made regarding the possibility of a third season for Devious Maids, but if having famous fans helps the show's chances, renewal could be a strong possibility for the Lifetime show.

Lifetime Picking Up 'Devious Maids' for Third Season?

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine on July 15, Pittsburgh Pirates Center Fielder Andrew McCutchen revealed that he happens to be a surprising fan of the series, which chronicles the secret lives of a group of Latina maids and their employers, living and working in Beverly Hills.

Though initially admitting he never intended to watch the series, McCutchen credited his fiancée with pulling him into the drama.

"Devious Maids. Because my fiancée watches it; I'm sitting in there, like 'Oh, I guess I'll watch it,' and you know what? It's not bad," he admitted. "there's not a plot-I mean, there is, but there isn't. There's maids who clean the houses, and they just eavesdrop on everything that's going on in the families, and there's mistresses, there's people killing people, but the maids are always in the middle of it. If you watch it enough, you get addicted to it."

"You feel embarrassed when people ask you what shows you watch, and you go, 'Oh, Devious Maid,'" he added. "But, I'm telling you, just watch it."

The show has yet to be picked up for a third season, and its chances are hard to determine. Though ratings for the series were modest throughout the second season, the program didn't hit the same level of highs it did during its first.

The show also faced stiff competition in its 10 p.m. timeslot on Sundays this season, getting beaten all season by a wide variety of shows, including HBO's Silicon Valley and The Leftovers, AMC's Mad Men, Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta  and Real Housewives of New Jersey, Adult Swim's Bob Burgers, TLC's Return to Amish, TNT's Falling Skies and Discovery's Naked and Afraid.
