Apollo Nida is reportedly working to get released from federal prison before his sentence even begins.

Apollo Nida Shades Phaedra Parks For Not Being Supportive

TMZ revealed Sunday that Nida hopes that rehab will help shave even more time off of his eight-year sentence. His maximum was originally 30 years, but a judge already knocked off 22. While he isn't currently suffering from an addiction, he has signed up for 500 hours of "intense" drug treatment while behind bars, in an effort to shorten his time there. He was accepted into the program because of a previous DUI.

As Nida prepares to go to jail, his wife Phaedra Parks' The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star NeNe Leakes spoke out about his legal woes and said she empathizes with Parks.

"I feel bad. You know, I know he committed a crime, and I know all that, but I feel bad because I really like Apollo," Leakes told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

She added that she hasn't spoken with Parks concerning Nida's sentence.

"That's kind of uncomfortable. I don't know how to like...'Hey, Phaedra, so, Apollo got...how many years, girl?' Like, that's so not a conversation. So we didn't talk about that. I feel bad for her."

Jeff Lewis of HGTV's Flipping Out joined Leakes for her appearance and dissed Nida, who pleaded guilty to fraud charges including identity theft and credit card fraud.

"My credit card was stolen recently. I was wondering if you could ask Apollo for it back?"

Nida was sentenced on July 8. Keep up with Enstars for updates.
