The August 8 release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is coming up fast, and the Michael Bay produced reboot has released another promo to prepare fans for the return of the famous ninja-skilled turtles.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Movie Footage Review Shows Good Humor, Michelangelo, and Great Action

As of right now, the marketing campaign has been relatively straightforward so far with general clips and trailers featuring a glimpse at the action and humor that the film offers. The latest promo though goes a different direction and uses animation to tell a brief background to the turtles and their fighting background.

Animated like a piece of Japanese art, the clip features the turtles in an ancient setting saving a city from imminent dangers. The voiceover speaks like a classic story of warriors finding their way and defending a city. This clip, titled "Legend of the Yokai," is much different than anything they have shown so far and this vibe is much more promising than the cliche action one that has been felt through the previous clips.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' New Clip Shows Megan Fox Learning About Turtles

While the trailers haven't looked promising, those who have seen the early footage of the film say that the movie has a lot of promise.

The Ninja Turtles reboot follows the Turtles working with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes from a script by Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Evan Daugherty with Jonathan Liebesman directing. Transformers director Michael Bay is producing. The movie stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, and Whoopi Goldberg with Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, and Pete Ploszek playing the turtles.
