Are Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi having a baby to fix their marriage? After de Rossi's good news about her arc on Scandal, a new report says this is the next step for the couple.

Ellen DeGeneres Announces Wife's Role On 'Scandal' After Rehab On Her Twitter

Reportedly, In Touch Weekly is reporting in this week's issue that the couple will be "starting a family" to "salvage their marriage." The magazine reports that de Rossi is "convinced" a baby could change everything. The actress has reportedly even contacted the Center for Surrogate Parenting in Encino, Calif. to "research their options."

"Ellen never wanted children," a friend apparently told the magazine, "but she is going along with it because she's desperate."

Ellen DeGeneres' Work Schedule Rumored Reason For Marital Fights

The magazine had previously reported that de Rossi entered rehab in May for issues with alcohol. "Portia made a video montage of Ellen with the kids she's interviewed over the years," the friend continued about the couple's plans. The video reportedly "really choked Ellen up," and de Rossi told her she would be the "best mother ever."

Despite how great this story may sound for the couple, Gossip Cop reports on July 23 that it's not true. A DeGeneres insider told the website that the tale is "complete B.S."

What's not however is de Rossi's arc on Scandal. DeGeneres took to her Twitter account yesterday to announce the amazing news. "So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on "Scandal". Oops."
