He confessed that after being released from jail the first time in 2009, spending five years behind bars, he lost his way but has made an effort to get back on track.

"I was captivated by a lot of things. I had definitely fallen off my spirituality a lot. When I came home for those six years, I lost myself, who I was as a person," he told Shut The Funny Up July 17.

He said one thing he has worked on spiritually is learning to forgive himself. He also vowed that once he is released, he won't fall off again.

"Once you forgive yourself, then let it go. [God] said He'd make that enemy your footstool. I'm supposed to go in there, recreate myself the way that I did the first time, but this tim don't lose myself. Stay true to myself."

He added that he plans to do that by increasing his prayer life and reading the Bible more.

"I wanna stay prayed up, stay spiritual, and I kinda drifted away from that and became just a product of my environment and the world. The message for me is, 'Apollo, go sit down. Get back in the Word. Get spiritually rooted; become more foundated and then come out and rock the world."
