Eddie Cibrian might be making decisions right now that one day he might heavily regret. The television actor, who hasn't had many stable acting gigs in the past few years, turned down a lucrative television role just so he can remain close to his wife LeAnn Rimes and his two sons, Mason and Jake.

Apparently, Cibrian turned down a role on the television drama Dallas because it would have forced him to relocate to Texas for several months while only seeing his family on the weekends. The actor told his wife on their reality television show, LeAnn & Eddie, on an episode aired on Thursday that he would rather pass on the opportunity and find something closer to home instead.

"I'm at peace with it, you know family is more important to me," Cibrian told his wife while she was sobbing on the show, according to the Daily Mail. "Another job will come around that is better and that is here."

He added, "I am totally okay with it. Even if they could have worked it out it would have still been very difficult. There is no way that I could do it."

Meanwhile, there have been reports that their reality show has failed to bring in an audience for the VH1 network.

According to Deadline, Rimes' show, which chronicles her behind-the-scenes life with Cibrian, was the lowest-rated show for VH1 on Thursday night.

"The 10:30 premiere of LeAnn & Eddie was seen by a total audience of 374,000," Deadline writes. In comparison, "The 1-hour Naked Dating had 826,000 total viewers with 480,000 among Adults 18-49. Not only was that 0.5 rating the best non-Monday premiere in the Viacom channel has had since Mob Wives launched on April 17, 2011 with a 0.9 but it saw huge leaps up from the last quarter."
