Hawaii Five-0's Scott Caan plays a father on TV, and now the actor is taking on the role in real life, too.

Caan, 37, and girlfriend Kacy Byxbee welcomed their first child, daughter Josie James, on July 9, according to E!.

Caan, who plays Detective Danny 'Danno' Williams on the CBS drama, is notoriously quite about his private life. The couple never formally announced Byxbee's pregnancy, and the couple has not released a statement regarding the birth.

Hawaii Five-0 commenced filming for season 5 in early July, but Caan was conspicuously absent from the blessing of the cast and crew on July 8. Since season 4 featured several episodes without Caan due to scheduling issues, some fans were worried that the actor's absence meant he was embroiled in another project.

Luckily, it appears Caan was simply preparing for the arrival of his bundle of joy.

When Hawaii Five-0 returns this fall, Danno and Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) will have to deal with the addition of Grover (Chi McBride) to the Five-0 team while also handling the return of the task force's arch nemesis, Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos).
