Both the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox 720 are shooting to be released within the next couple years; potentially in time for the 2013 holiday season.

Still up for debate, the final cost of the dualing consoles could indeed cause a negative impact in sales for the competitors; as the PlayStation 3 did not fare too well in its original launch due to a bad sales pricing model.

The big wigs over at Microsoft seemed to have learned a thing or two from PlayStation's minimal launch with the PS3; as they are working on a new pricing model to combat the strapped economy. The video game moguls are looking to charge just $100 for those who commit to a contract and a $14.99 monthly charge.

Xbox 720 will serve as a cable box and is also said to have tablet, smartphone and other connecting capabilities.

As the new generation of gaming nears, both Sony and Microsoft look to outwit one another in what is sure to be a battle of the technologies.

With the bar being set higher and higher in terms of graphics and convenience, sky will indeed be the limit in terms of realism and ease.

Happy gaming!
