Cat Deeley has been the host of the American version of So You Think You Can Dance? since season two, and the show is now in the midst of its 11th season, so she has been around.

So You Think You Can Dance? To Eliminate Four In Next Episode

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Times reported on a conversation they had with Deeley. There was some fluff and fun to be had, but also a bit of news that may be of interest to fans of the show.

Deeley took questions from fans, and gave people information about why she appears to tower over contestants and who she would want to be her partner if she went on Dancing with the Stars, to mix dancing-based reality shows. However, she also relayed some information from executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe. Namely, if the ratings don't hold, this could be the last season of So You Think You Can Dance.

So You Think You Can Dance? Season 10 Winner Revealed

This is not particularly encouraging news for fans of the program. The ratings for the last three episodes have all been under four million viewers, and that may not qualify as "holding." Additionally, while the show usually eliminates two dancers per episode, this week's episode is going to see four contestants eliminated, dropping the show from 14 dancers to 10. Is this a way to try and generate more intrigue and raise the stakes? Or is it a way to cut down on episodes for a show that isn't as popular as it once was? So You Think You Can Dance airs Wednesday nights on Fox.
