As filming for season 6 of The Good Wife has begun, there are new reports that a spin-off of the CBS legal drama is also in the works.

Lemond Bishop Set To Return In Season 6 Of The Good Wife

E!Online suggested that a spin-off might take place with Carrie Preston, who plays Elsbeth Tascioni on The Good Wife. Preston will be coming back for season 6 but only for a few episodes. At Comic-Con, the actress spoke to the publication, confirming she'd be there but also hinting at resorting to Kickstarter to get more screen time and space.

"There you go, I'll be there," Preston said. "I'll do the Kickstarter videos. I'll beg people, more Elsbeth! I am coming back for a couple more episodes, so..."

Earlier this year, she had hinted at the spin-off speaking to E! Online suggesting that something bigger might be at play for her character.

In season 5, Elsbeth Tascioni won over Rayna Hecht (Jill Hennessy) and announced that she would be starting a new firm with her. Florrick/Agos and Lockhart/Gardner were also fighting for Hecht's patnership -- which would pump in $60 million -- but lost out to Preston.

While talking about the future of her character, the actress, who also stars in True Blood, seemed to suggest that things could go two ways -- either she would be come on board permanently or the producers could think of working on a spin-off.

"I think they concentrate on the season at hand, and then we'll see. I'm hoping that they'll want to open up a dialogue with me, but you know, there's lots of things that go into something like that happening, but my fingers are crossed," she said. "I would love to continue playing this character, not only because I love the character, but it shoots in New York and my husband's there most of the year shooting Person of Interest, and it would just be amazing for us to actually be working in the same city."

Preston already has ideas for the nature of the spin-off and how it would pan out.

"A spinoff could really work in that kind of Monk way, a drama but has a lot of levity to it and, you know, it's the case of the week and how is this woman going to use all of her mind tricks to make it happen in surprising and entertaining ways?" she said. "It could work, but I don't know how CBS would feel about that."

The finale for season 5, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.

Season 6 of The Good Wife will premiere on CBS on September 21.
