As filming for House of Cards season 3 is underway, all manner of spoilers and speculation about the plot of the next chapter has been doing the rounds on the internet.

Next Chapter Of House of Cards To Premiere In February?

One of the main points of discussion is who will be Frank Underwood's arch nemesis in season 3 and jeopardise his term as president.

Frank has gotten rid of many of his enemies, most recently Lucas (Sebastian Arcelus) was packed off to jail. But new reports suggest that Frank might have to reckon with yet another pesky journalist as Ayla Sayyad (Mozhan Marno) will return in full force.

Meanwhile, there was also speculation surrounding the other journalist Lucas getting out of jail. Once free, he will definitely go after Frank and seek vengeance for Zoe's (Kate Mara) death. This might actually thicken the plot as Frank's presidency would be threatened by the revelation.

In an interview with Katie Couric, Willimon did talk about Lucas up while talking about Zoe's death in the beginning of season 2. Couric asked if Zoe's boyfriend would come back in season 3.

Willimon gave his standard answer -- that he is using to answer when asked about the future of many characters on the show -- suggesting that there was only one way to find out. But it seems likely that Lucas will return as that would ruin things for Frank drastically.

So, if Lucas were to make it back somehow, Frank might need to bloody his hands yet again.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
