New footage has been released on the Downton Abbey Christmas special that gives a hint on what viewers are about to witness soon.

Will Any Characters Die In The Fifth Season?

On Friday, Mirror posted a video of the footage as cast and crew members can be seen walking around. Snow is blowing all around as the actors are in costume and have conversations during filming.

There are some vague views on who all the actors are, but they are in the process of filming as they stroll through the snow and embrace the holiday season.

Actress Dishes On Christmas Special

The video can be viewed here.

The site also showes photos of the fifth season, including Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) and Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) as they make their way through the streets. Carmichael is spotted in a yellow top with a blue skirt and a wide hat.

Carmichael recently spoke to Hit Fix on where her character will be when the drama returns, which will not be in a happy place ever since the baby situation took place.

"It's a tricky place. She's on knife-edge," the actress said. "And the thing that I think makes this situation even worse, which sounds not-too-exciting is that nobody really knows. Even though she's having a horrible time and Gregson's disappeared and her child is separated from her, in the country but not living with her, the family have no idea."

The actress also mentioned that Edith won't be getting any sympathy from her family, making things even harder.

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere on Sunday, January 4 in the United States on PBS.
