Homeland Back On Track For When Producers 'Conceived The Show,' Without Brody

The Season 4 premiere of Homeland will be a two-hour event, with the network debuting the first two episodes of the season, according to a new report from the network. The season premiere will be Oct. 5, as previously announced.

"[T]here is such strong anticipation for the start of Season 4 that we wanted to give Homeland fans an extra generous helping of Carrie [Claire Danes] and company," said Showtime EVP Gary Levine in a statement.

On Oct. 13, Showtime will be premiering the new drama The Affair after the third episode of Homeland.

"Once we decided to premiere Homeland with a double episode, it made sense to use the momentum of that event to launch our newest series, The Affair, the very next week," the statement continued.

The premiere episode of the season is titled The Drone Queen while the second episode is titled Trylon and Perisphere.

The fourth season of Homeland is set to feature Carrie as the new Station Chief in Islamabad, Pakistan and Kabul, Afghanistan. This is a vast departure from the first three seasons, which was mostly centered in the U.S., with Carrie going after (and falling in love with) suspected terrorist Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).

Production on the fourth season was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, which is doubling for the Middle East.
